The course was opened in 1928 as a nine-hole course, was reimagined by Donald Ross in 1945, and was expanded to its current 18 holes in 1961.
Greens are bentgrass and are generally small, putting emphasis on approach and chipping skill. Two creeks flow through the property, giving the player multiple opportunities to test their game against water-hazard shots.
