PGA Junior League and Lenoir Golf Club
Your child deserves more than ordinary. At Lenoir Golf Club, Junior Golf is EXTRAORDINARY!
Golf, according to Harvey Penick, is "A Game for a Lifetime". One of few sports that can be enjoyed throughout one's entire life, the lessons learned in this game will follow the player far beyond the out-of-bounds markers. Since 1927, Lenoir Golf Club has been one of the most recognizable landmarks in Lenoir and has given the citizens of Caldwell County a place to enjoy the wonderful game of golf. For decades, Lenoir Golf Club has incorporated Family and Junior Golf into it's service mix. In 2014, Lenoir Golf Club started offering a Junior League that allowed juniors to play competitive golf all year. In 2015, Lenoir Golf Club introduced Junior Tees (Click here, for more information). In 2016, Lenoir Golf Club is changing the game! We are no longer offering the 3 Standard week-long summer junior camps. Instead, we are offering a Junior Clinic and Parent-Child Program that runs from March until December (Schedule). Our program contains clinics, tournaments, and parent-child events. The cost of Clinics is always minimal and juniors play free in Parent-Child Events.
In 2016, Lenoir Golf Club has also decided to partner with the PGA of America and participate in the PGA's Junior League. PGA Junior League Golf is a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls ages 13 and under to learn and enjoy the game of golf. Much like other recreational league sports, participants wear numbered jerseys and play on teams with their friends.
Each team is captained by a PGA or LPGA Professional, who serves as the coach and is at the forefront of creating a welcoming environment for all to enjoy the game. PGA Junior League Golf utilizes a popular scramble format that creates a nurturing environment for learning and development - both on and off course. With more than 2,500 teams and 30,000 participants in 2015 - and Ambassadors like Rory McIlroy and Michelle Wie - PGA Junior League Golf has wide-ranging appeal for both youth and their parents.
